Sandrew Montgomery has been a Wine Professional since 1977 and began teaching about Wine in 1982.
A California Wine Historian, Mr. Montgomery has been instrumentally involved in the launches of historic wineries such as Caymus, Opus One, Shafer, Matanzas Creek, Rubicon, Dominus Estate, the Hess Collection, Conundrum, Dolce, Mazzocco, Robert Sinskey, Swan, Kendall-Jackson, Sullivan Birney and Nicholson Ranch. He introduced the initial releases of Cabernet Sauvignon for Chateau Montelena and Far Niente Wineries and helped market several others to prominence.
Sandrew’s expertise comes from being classically trained in restaurants, having matriculated at the University of Denver Hotel and Restaurant Management program, where he graduated in 1981.
He has been actively involved in creating the tasting notes for wineries and pairing of foods to wines for large and small groups, clubs and organizations, as well as celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, educational seminars and just for fun! His engaging enthusiasm for pairing foods to wines creates an innovative approach to learning about flavors in an atmosphere of intimacy with friends, as his many testimonials proclaim.
